Easterseals Academy’s Lower School offers low student-to-teacher ratios, small class sizes, and teacher assistants at our campus located inside the Lee Wetherington Boys & Girls Club on Fruitville Road. Technology, evidence-based instructional methods are complemented by comprehensive educational teams that include ESE certified teachers, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, registered behavior technicians, social workers and board-certified behavior analysts. The highly interactive and engaging learning environment meets the needs of learners of all abilities and the convenience of provided therapies for children with identified needs during the school day, scheduled within their school day.
Each student’s current skills are assessed to create measurable goals. These goals are individualized and address the components of instruction, including functional spontaneous communication, social skills, play, and motor skills, cognitive development, functional academic skills and proactive interventions to address challenging behavior. The classrooms have different student-to-teacher ratios, depending on the needs of the students. Each grade-level curriculum is enhanced with visual arts, music, movement, sensory programming, Spanish, field trips, and community-based instruction to provide an enriched elementary experience.
Easterseals Academy accepts McKay, Gardner, and Step Up for Students scholarships.
